Purdue Pharma hit the jackpot. The pharmaceutical company that gained notoriety over the last twenty years selling their opioid-based blockbuster drug OxyContin (OC) did what most highly organised drug cartels do: they got the American population addicted to pain relief, hooking them on high doses of opioids in order to “get their life back”.
