Syria's degree of involvement in the synthetic drug trade is the highest in the world, but the influence of neighbouring Lebanon should not be underestimated.
As the conflict in Syria has rolled on over the past decade, the country’s involvement in the synthetic drug trade has grown, and the country ranks highest for the market in the Global Organized Crime Index 2021.
