Myanmar opium cultivation declines sharply, except in some conflict areas: UN report

The total area of opium poppy cultivation in Myanmar has decreased significantly in 2017 to 41,000 hectares, down 25% from the 55,500 recorded in 2015, according to the Myanmar Opium Survey 2017 released today by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). (UNODC, 06.12.2017)
