Webinar. Nitazenes in Europe – How Should We Prepare? (09.05.2025)

In recent years, Europe has seen early warning signs of an emerging synthetic opioid crisis. While heroin remains the primary opioid of concern, the rise of nitazenes—potent synthetic opioids with unpredictable effects—poses a growing threat. Unlike traditional opioids, nitazenes are often found in counterfeit medications or mixed with other substances, increasing the risk of overdose and complicating harm reduction efforts. 

To explore this topic in more detail, Correlation-European Harm Reduction Network (C-EHRN), in collaboration with the Ana Liffey Drug Project, the Trimbos Institute and the City of Zurich, is organising a webinar with leading European experts. The webinar will provide an evidence-based overview of the situation around nitazenes in Europe, examine emerging trends, and discuss which policy, healthcare, and harm reduction responses are needed to prepare.

European Drugs Summer School (EDSS) 2025

The two week in-person Summer School (23 June - 04 July 2025) prepares professionals and students to meet the complex policy challenges that face Europe and the World in the field of drugs. Teaching staff include scientific experts from the EUDA, researchers, practitioners and policymakers.

The course is organised in cooperation with University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL).

Webinar. Addiction Treatment 101 - Learn the basics in 40 minutes! 

This course provides an introduction to substance use disorder treatment, including the different types of medications used to treat opioid use disorder, and how these medications work. Participants will also hear from patients about their experiences with substance use disorder treatment and how treatment medications played a significant role in their recovery. E-learning. Verstehen, unterstützen, motivieren – Gemeinsam für eine Schwangerschaft ohne Alkohol

Alkoholkonsum in der Schwangerschaft gilt als bedeutsamster vermeidbarer Risikofaktor für angeborene Fehlbildungen und geistige Behinderung (zusammengefasst „Fetale Alkohol-Spektrum-Störung“ bzw. „FASD“). Demnach ist die Ansprache des Konsums von (medizinischen) Fachkräften im Dialog mit den betreuten Schwangeren von besonderer Bedeutung.

Die Fortbildung wird im Rahmen einer wissenschaftlichen Studie ab dem 06.05.2024 angeboten. Die Teilnahme ist im Rahmen der Studie kostenlos.
