Treatment of Hepatitis C in People Who Inject Drugs (Video)

Stefan Zeuzem, MD

Transmission of hepatitis C is particularly high among people who inject drugs, making treatment of this population a high priority in efforts to eradicate this condition.

Treatment with direct-acting antiviral therapies can achieve high rates of sustained virologic response, even in this population that has challenges with adherence.

In this ReCAP, Dr Stefan Zeuzem from the University of Frankfurt in Germany discusses the two available drug combinations recommended for patients with hepatitis C without cirrhosis and the excellent results that can be expected using these regimens. (Medscape, USA, 06:27)
